Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the New Orleans Investment Conference?
An annual event that was first held in 1974, the New Orleans Investment Conference is the oldest and most respected investment gathering in the world. It allows serious investors to immerse themselves in the trends driving U.S. and global markets. Attendees come away from the Conference fully briefed on the outlook for the economy and investment markets. They emerge fully prepared to strategically position their portfolios to reduce risks and boost returns over the coming year.
In addition to crucial economic and investment benchmarks, attendees also receive detailed information on today’s very best investment ideas from some of the world’s leading investment strategists.
Q. Who attends this event?
The majority of Conference attendees are private investors. Most have an investment portfolio of sufficient size to make it crucial that they keep in touch with shifting market trends. A number of investment professionals also attend the Conference, with an eye toward expanding their knowledge about current trends and opportunities.
Also, many Conference participants bring spouses and make the annual trip to New Orleans a combined learning experience and enjoyable holiday. Our beautiful Crescent City offers many elegant restaurants, antique shops, historical Vieux Carre’ architecture and shopping malls located just a few blocks from our host hotel. We have hundreds of individuals who make it a point to attend the Conference each and every year, and they will tell you that every trip has paid for itself many times over. After attending just once, whether your portfolio is $1,000 or $100 million, you’ll agree this is a can't-miss event and an exceptional annual opportunity to refocus your investment strategies.
Q. I've registered for the Conference. What should I do now?
First, check the information in your confirmation email to make sure all your information is correct. It is especially important that you confirm your hotel arrangements as soon as possible, as there are only a limited number of rooms available in the convenient Conference host hotel, the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
As an official registrant, you’ll begin receiving regular Member Benefits Packets of various newsletters and reports from the experts scheduled to speak at New Orleans 2017. This exclusive bonus alone is worth more than the price of admission to the Conference. Q. What is a typical day at the Conference?
We typically start pretty early. The day consists of a larger general session, where topics of broad and urgent interest to the entire group are presented, including a fascinating assortment of special panel discussions, debates and presentations.
Between general sessions, the Conference breaks into smaller hands-on workshops, where you’ll learn about specific investment strategies and have the opportunity to exchange questions and answers with faculty and other Conference participants. All together, there are dozens of speakers, workshops, presentations, and panels to choose from, presented by the largest collection of topflight authorities on the economy and investments anywhere.
Don’t feel compelled to try and squeeze in every presentation, or you might tire yourself out. Rather, pick and choose among those topics of greatest interest to you and take some time out to visit the exhibits offering free information on a variety of financial products and services.
This is the 43rd annual New Orleans Conference. As usual, you can expect us to be pulling out all the stops to make the entire event very special.
