Alasdair Macleod

Alasdair has had a career of 55 years in the securities industry and banking. Initially a stockbroker in London, he learned his trade as a floor broker, institutional salesman, and in corporate finance. Following his broking career, he became Investment Director for a mutual fund group, was retained as an advisor to a number of banks on securities management and administration, and became an Executive Director of a bank in the Channel Islands.

He first became interested in gold as a broker following the suspension of the Bretton Woods Agreement, an interest which has developed into a wider expertise on money, credit, and economics. Today, he has a popular Substack channel where he writes on these topics and related matters and is a Senior Strategic Advisor to VON GREYERZ AG.
