James Stack

Biography

James Stack is President of InvesTech Research, founded in 1980, and is nationally renowned in the industry for his historical perspective and safety-first approach to investing. He has been featured and regularly quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Barron’s, U.S. News and World Report, USA Today, Kiplinger Magazine, and many other publications.

InvesTech’s “safety first” investment philosophy has guided subscribers through the most treacherous bear markets of the past 40 years. After the 1987 Crash, USA Today wrote, “From his office overlooking Whitefish Lake in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, Jim Stack foresaw the stock market crash of October 19th – Black Monday.” In the late 1990s, he was criticized in the media for warning of a stock market Tech Bubble before its collapse. And in 2005 InvesTech was credited with having warned investors of the impending housing bubble and the great Financial Crisis that unfolded two years later. In March 2009, the same week the 2007-09 bear market bottomed, InvesTech Research told subscribers to “prepare for the best buying opportunity in over a decade.” Mr. Stack’s track record has been described by Forbes as “more or less impervious to declines.”

Jim is also CEO and founder of Stack Financial Management, which has been recognized by Barron’s as one of the Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors in the U.S., and by Forbes as one of America’s Top 250 Wealth Advisors.
